rhinoplasty-philadelphia-

Also known commonly among people as a "nose job," rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to improve the appearance or functionality of the human nose. While many men and women choose this type of procedure to make their breathing easier or recover function after a burn or trauma, most people elect to have surgery on their nose for aesthetic reasons. Self-esteem and self-confidence issues that build up over a lifetime can be reversed in a few short hours in an operating room.

This procedure is usually performed in two main ways: open or closed. Variations between the two mainly include where the incisions are placed and, in turn, where healing or scarring will take place. Other than that, the process is essentially the same. Whether incised inside the nostril or along the bottom septum, skin and soft tissue will be separated from bone and cartilage. Scalpels or chisels will be used to remove bony humps of cartilage or transplant materials may add support and shape.

Rhinoplasty surgery may also be classified as primary, secondary, functional or reconstructive, depending on if it is the first time surgery has been performed on the nose and what the overall purpose of the surgery is. Primary reconstructive rhinoplasty is the most common cosmetic procedure selected by men and women to improve the overall aesthetic appearance of their nose. Secondary procedures refer to any sort of post-operative revision.

As with any invasive surgery, rhinoplasty operations come with a similar set of potential side effects and risks. Negative reaction to anesthesia, hematoma formation, seroma formation, blood clots, bleeding, infection, asymmetry, irregularities, extended healing or wound dehiscence may all occur. Most of these risks are very rare and highly dependent on the skill and experience of the surgeon performing the operation. As such, it is important to thoroughly research the physician that you will trust your nose with and ensure that you find someone that is highly skilled. Maximizing positive results from the surgery also involves outlining your expectations, questions, and concerns from the onset. A good surgeon will be able to openly and candidly address your concerns and ensure that you are fully prepared for the pre- and post-operative periods.

Recovery from rhinoplasty usually involves wearing a metal splint taped to the nose for at least one week. A small amount of pain, redness, swelling, bruising or inflammation may be present and is a normal part of the healing process. However, these should all gradually subside over a week or two. Be sure to report any increase in pain or swelling to your doctor immediately. Other temporary side effects may include loss of sense of smell or nasal whistling. Both may recover spontaneously as the septum heals or may require further post-operative revision to correct the problem. Of note, rhinoplasty has the most number of post-operative revision surgeries of any cosmetic procedure performed in North America. This high revision rate speaks to how important it is to find a surgeon that you trust and who can give you a realistic idea of what to expect with your new nose.

Rhinoplasty is a plastic surgery procedure that seeks to reshape the look or improve the function of a patients nose or nostrils. Though most identify the procedure as purely cosmetic, other times rhinoplasty is performed to help a patient heal from trauma or to correct a breathing problem. Another treatment that can often accompany a rhinoplasty is a septoplasty, which reshapes the patients septum, improving breathing or snoring. As one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries, rhinoplasties present minimal risk and a short recovery times.

Unfortunately, though risks are rare, they do exist, especially when your surgeon engages in negligent behavior when caring for you. Because doctors, nurses and other healthcare practitioners have a professional responsibility to provide a reasonable duty of care to patients, they must be held accountable when this is not done. One way to make sure they are held responsible for their actions is through a medical malpractice lawsuit. The help of an experienced attorney can improve your chances of a favorable result and can help you fight for the funds to which you are entitled.

Complications related to rhinoplasties can include the following:

Negative reaction to anesthesia or severe allergic reaction
Infection following the use of improperly sterilized tools or unsanitary conditions
Permanent damage to the nose or other facial nerves
Toxic Shock Syndrome
Skin necrosis, or death of the skin (most prominent in smokers)
"Polly beak" or "saddle nose" deformities

The negative consequences of malpractice can range in severity, from simple cosmetic abnormalities to life-threatening conditions. However, no damage is too minor to request financial compensation for. By working with an attorney, you can make sure these individuals are held responsible for their mistreatment of you. If you have been wronged in a medical setting, the law exists to protect you.

The cost of painting a vehicle depends on many variables, including the paint type, design, coverage, quality and size of the vehicle. With so many factors it may be hard to determine the price of a custom paint job.

General Paint

To begin, a regular paint job consisting of new paint with nothing extra can begin at $500 and go to more than $5,000 depending on the type of paint used, the quality of the preparation before the paint is applied and the skill of the painter. If the vehicle is to be painted a completely different color than the original paint, the price can sometimes double. This is because the car must be stripped down and completely repainted.

A full color change consists of removing interior and door pieces so that the door jambs can be repainted; removing the carpet and liner from the trunk to repaint the inside of the trunk and removing the engine and all engine parts to change the color of the firewall and inside the engine bay. These things can add several thousand dollars to your custom paint job. A full color change starts around $5,000 for a low quality paint job and can reach $10,000 for a high quality job.

Custom Designs

Custom paint jobs are not only available in solid colors, but can have the addition of pin stripes, racing stripes, graphics, air brushing, special paint and/or several different colors. All of these factors add hundreds or thousands to the final price of a paint job.

Simple pin stripes can cost about $300. Racing stripes can add $600 to your cars paint job. Graphics can cost from $1,000 to more than $50,000 for the artwork. That does not include the cost of the paint or the labor needed to prep the cars surface. The more complex the artwork is, the higher the cost of the paint job.

Specialty paint can quickly add hundreds or thousands of dollars to a paint job. Paints like pearls, candy paints and metallic flake paints can cost several hundred dollars per quart. At least one gallon is needed to cover an entire car, plus primer and clear coat paint, so the cost adds up quickly. Paints like the new chrome paints on the market can cost more than $800 per quart, making the price of the paint more expensive then a low-quality paint job.

Additions

A factor to keep in mind is the amount of surface that must be painted. Things like wings, spoilers, camper shells, side skirts and other extra parts require more paint and more preparation time. This results in more labor and a higher cost. A bumper cover or spoiler can cost an extra $300 alone.
